Born in 1961 in Nicosia, Cyprus.

Studied painting, theoretical and historical studies in art and architecture history, and pedagogy psychology at the Athens University, School of Fine Arts in Greece, between the years 1979-1985.
Lives and works in Cyprus.

Has exhibited her work in  solo shows in Cyprus and participated in group exhibitions both in Cyprus and abroad (Greece, France, Switzerland, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, China, U.S.A.).

Was awarded a prize in drawing at the 18th Biennale of Alexandria, Egypt in 1994.

The book "Flying across red skies" was nominated for 2010 publications, National Children Story Book Illustration Award.

2008 "Flying across red skies"  A children's story book written by Melissa Hekkers. 
The story was inspired by Marlen's series of paintings 'Nature's Desires' and  'Transition' which illustrates the book.
